Kunstverein Tiergarten 2026 hosted by rk – Gallery for Contemporary Art

Archives collect, organize, and preserve records of the past. Every decision about what is preserved also determines what will be passed on to the future and under what conditions history can be remembered, recounted, and interpreted in the future. Archives are thus both repositories of the past and infrastructures of possible futures.

Future Archives / Archive Futures takes this temporal intertwining as its starting point and explores how archiving practices are changing, what other forms of memory and knowledge production may emerge from them—and what futures archives are already shaping today.
