Talent runs in her family: She learned to play the guitar and piano at an early age from her father, actor and musician Richard Ridings. She wrote her first songs at the age of nine and attended the renowned Brit School for Performing Arts as a teenager.
Following her first releases and the live album “Live at St Pancras Old Church,” she achieved her breakthrough in 2017 with the single “Lost Without You.” The song immediately made it into the Top Ten of the singles charts and made Ridings an overnight sensation in the pop world. In 2019, she released her self-titled debut album, and with its single “Castles,” she once again celebrated international success.
Stars like Taylor Swift and Florence Welch were immediate fans.
And with her second album, “Blood Orange,” Ridings proved she had earned this high praise. On it, she tackles intense themes like resilience, breakups, and feminism through powerful melodies full of energy and vulnerability.
Now she’s back with her third album, “Mother Of Pearl.”
She is no longer the same artist she was in her early works—she had to dig deep within herself to find previously unknown reserves, drawing out a great deal of anger, wisdom, and femininity in the process.
From the very beginning of her career, Ridings has made a name for herself as an outstanding, life-affirming live performer.
Whether at her own concerts, major festivals, or as the opening act for artists like Tash Sultana and Lewis Capaldi:
A Freya Ridings concert is a holistic, almost healing experience.
To promote her new album, Freya Ridings, supported by the British indie rockers Amber Run, is embarking on a major UK and European tour, which will also bring her to Berlin!
