Networking meeting for specialist audiences
Over the course of our festival breakfast for professionals, the participants will offer two keynote presentations this year that deal with the autonomy of objects in different ways.
Maryia Kamarova, whose performance 555 Bugs will be able to be experienced on the last day of the festival, constantly switches in her artistic practice between the roles of the creator, performer and communicator of a material. In her keynote presentation, she will ask from a post-human perspective whether and how we could create conditions in which material could act autonomously.
Yasha Jain from Hertzlab at Zentrum für Kunst und Medien Karlsruhe (the Karlsruhe Center for Art and Media) discusses her work with soft, fluffly robot pets in her contribution Robot Petting Zoo. She has investigated how people interact with these artificial creatures and what their behavior tells us about the experience of having a pet which is both real and artificial at the same time.
