Familienkonzert: Karneval der Tiere (mit Ballett)

Composer Camille Saint-Saëns (played by Andreas Peer Kähler) invites the audience to his house concert and, with a twinkle in his eye, announces the world premiere of a work that will rank among the most famous family concert programs of the next 200 years. Before “The Carnival of the Animals” begins, various instruments are introduced, and the audience gets to guess which animals are being musically portrayed.

This entertaining and humorous stage production combines music, dance, and drama into a special experience for the whole family. For the grand finale, Saint-Saëns’ masterpiece will be presented in a full-scale staged performance by 50 young dancers, the piano duo Helene Zehender and Johannes Storch, and the Unter den Linden Chamber Orchestra.

The production is a collaboration between the “Leo Borchard” Music School in Steglitz-Zehlendorf and the Zehlendorf Ballet and Dance Studio, under the direction of Franziska Rengger.
