“I’ll only be immortal when I’m dead!” This new tribute to the greatest genius in German-language pop and rap history revolves around these somber, prescient words.

“FALCO MEETS AMADEUS” is a gripping and deeply moving musical journey through the defining moments in the life of this striking musician—a man who lived life to the fullest and endured many ups and downs, ultimately leading to his self-destruction.

Over 60 million records sold, a seemingly endless number of sold-out concerts worldwide, and the only German-language song to date to top the American charts made Falco the most internationally successful Austrian musician of all time, alongside Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

In his No. 1 song “Rock Me Amadeus,” he sings, among other things, about Mozart’s popularity, his debts, and his relationships with women—parallels that can be attributed not only to his “rock idol” but also to Falco himself. As a turning point in Falco’s career, the song is, of course, an essential part of the new edition of “FALCO MEETS AMADEUS.”

In addition to “Rock Me Amadeus” and their backgrounds, there are many other similarities between the two musical geniuses: Both were far ahead of their time, created their own unique musical styles, and thus shaped the music of their era like no one else; two complex and controversial figures straddling the line between genius and madness; and two lives marked by excess, each of which came to an end far too soon. Falco died at the age of 40 in a car accident in the Dominican Republic, while Mozart died at the young age of 35 from a fever. Both lived primarily in Vienna and were laid to rest there. They live on forever in the hearts of their fans, and their musical legacy has ultimately made them immortal.

The song selection in this spectacular show experience ranges from all of Falco’s major hits—such as “Der Kommissar,” “Vienna Calling,” “Jeanny,” and “Out of the Dark,” to early successes like “Ganz Wien,” impressive tracks such as “Emotional” and “Coming Home,” a few unjustly forgotten songs, and the song “Europa,” which is once again highly relevant today. This tribute brings “Falco” back to the stage and presents all the songs live with a five-piece band and outstanding performers. The dance ensemble’s flamboyant and extravagant performances breathe new life into the songs and wonderfully round out the stage spectacle.

The successful Passau-based producer and promoter Oliver Forster has already demonstrated a keen sense of audience taste as a tour organizer of musical biographies such as “ELVIS – The Musical,” “all you need is love! – The Beatles Musical,” and “Simply The Best – The Tina Turner Story.” In addition, COFO has filled theaters across the German-speaking world in recent years with its own productions featuring global stars such as Michael Jackson (“BEAT IT!”) and Frank Sinatra (“That’s Life”).
