On this family tour, you’ll explore the stories of families who lived in divided Berlin and ask: What does freedom mean? How does democracy influence the way we live together? And what opportunities do people have to help shape their own future?

Through the remains of the Wall, photographs and personal life stories, you’ll learn why the Berlin Wall was built and how it changed the lives of so many people. You’ll reflect on how families maintained hope, courage and solidarity during the era of division – and how people ultimately brought about change themselves and brought down the Wall.
