Doris Hermanns introduces Eva Busch, who went into exile in the Netherlands with Ernst Busch, survived the camps in Gurs and Ravensbrück, and after the war was regarded as the ‘Frenchwoman from Berlin’ or the ‘Berliner from France’ as a chanson singer.
Eva Busch was a German singer and cabaret artist.
Together with her husband Ernst Busch, she regularly performed at the Berlin Volksbühne and at cabaret stages that were very popular at the time. The two enjoyed success with songs by Bertolt Brecht, Walter Mehring and Kurt Tucholsky, among others.
