Wars, climate change, a shift to the right, social division, inflation – and then there’s that damned chair. Nothing seems certain any more; control is slipping away, and we’re losing our footing.

‘ENTGLITTEN’ transforms this feeling into an evening full of humour, artistry and surprising lightness. At its heart: a chair that resists, disappears, reappears and becomes a living counterpart. Elaborately produced animations and mysterious tricks turn it into both an adversary and a mirror.

Slapstick meets magic; acrobatics meet poetic imagery. Tragicomic, intense and moving, Lukas Aue’s solo performance tells of losing hope – and of finding it again. A fascinating interplay of contemporary circus and theatre that, without a single word, tells of falling down, getting back up and carrying on.

‘Hope isn’t something you simply have; hope is something you create.’
