The exhibition focuses on the cartoonist and storyteller Wilhelm Busch. Standing at the beginning of the "comic era," he wrote cultural history with his pointedly comic and violent picture stories.

Wilhelm Busch was a representative of the artistic avant-garde - at the same time, his work reflected the social discourses of his time. He became known, however, for his "bourgeois" genre scenes, with which the notorious bachelor takes aim at conflicts in marriage and family as well as between the generations.
