Reading and talk with Nina Petrick
What was it like to grow up as the child of a famous artist couple in walled-off West Berlin? The author—and daughter of Helma and Wolfgang Petrick—reads from her work and discusses the politically turbulent years of her childhood, which shaped her and her parents in very different ways.
Nina Petrick (b. 1965) studied German language and literature and art history, and worked as a freelance writer for various publishers and radio stations. She received the “Peter Härtling Prize” for her first novel, *Die Regentrinkerin*. Since then, she has published numerous audiobooks and read-aloud books and is a member of the “Spreeautoren,” an association of Berlin-based children’s book authors and illustrators. Nina Petrick lives in Berlin with her husband and daughter.
