In “Graceful Degradation”, the German artist Verena Bachl explores industrial elements, light and the transformation of materials. Her works include sculptures and spatial installations. The focus is on transitional states and metastable formations, as well as the question of how systems change gradually rather than collapsing suddenly.
In “Menhir”, the Welsh artist Rhys Himsworth combines technological raw material extraction with geological memory. Taking prehistoric menhirs – upright stones – as his starting point, he presents CNC-milled wall panels and sculptural forms made from synthetic resin and shredded electronic waste. Printed circuit boards, LCD screens and hard drives are thus transformed into speculative monoliths and artefacts of a possible archaeology of the future.
