Let yourself be guided through a time capsule on Berlin's Ku'damm at home or on the road! The original rooms have remained almost unchanged since 1976.
Jeanne Mammen is one of Berlin's best-known painters and graphic artists. When she and her sister Mimi received their first graphic commissions in 1920, they rented a 55 square meter studio in the side wing of a Wilhelminian style building at Ku'damm 29. It remained Jeanne Mammen's home until her death in April 1976. Since then, the living and working spaces have been largely preserved as they were at the time. During the virtual tour with an expert, you have the opportunity to explore the place in a 360-degree panoramic view, get closer to the artist and the private person Jeanne Mammen and learn a lot about her time. This makes it possible to understand how this extraordinary woman asserted herself in the 1920s, during the Nazi era, during the Berlin Blockade and in the divided city.
THey are offering this digital tour to give a wider audience an insight into this very special Berlin time capsule. The original rooms are not barrier-free and therefore unfortunately not accessible for people with disabilities. The number of guided tours on site and the number of people taking part are also strictly limited in order to protect the rooms and furnishings.
