Reading with Veso Potarsky, accompanied by Vladimir Karpatov on saxophone

The Bulgarian author Veso Potarsky, who lives in Berlin, reads short stories for the pre-Christmas season with a wink and depth. Inspired by encounters, he tells about the normal madness of everyday life - refreshing, witty and atmospheric. Portarsky will be accompanied on this evening by saxophonist Vladimir Karparov.

Veso Portarsky, the "Bulgarian Kaminer", was born and raised in Sofia and studied business administration in Berlin and Amsterdam, earning his living as a Father Christmas, among other things. In 2015, his first book "The Biggest Orgasm in the Balkans" was published, followed by "The Wine That Was Not Allowed to Be Drunk" in 2017 and "Prominence" in 2019. In August 2021, Portarsky's first volume of poetry "Poems around the world" was published with illustrations by the exceptional Berlin artist Jonathan Meese, which were shown in the exhibition of the same name at the Bibliothek am Wasserturm.

The exceptional Bulgarian musician Vladimir Karparov is equally at home in the Balkan tradition and in modern jazz. He is considered one of the most promising talents of the Bulgarian jazz scene and has already received several awards for his work.
