Six years ago, a young couple left the city to start a new life in the countryside. They dreamed of creating their own island, a refuge from the increasingly threatening outside world.

An old house was to be transformed into a small paradise; friends and allies were to follow, together building a new community. But today, just fifty meters from the children's room, an imperial flag flies, and fear grips them. They face a decision: return or retreat. Or could they perhaps grow even deeper into the village community? Their resources are limited, their questions overwhelming.

How much love do we still have for each other? Can they feel safe and secure in their own home? When, they wonder, did they take a wrong turn? They try to remember—and this remembering is their last attempt to reclaim a shared reality. Or at least to prove that it even exists.

In their search for truth, they come dangerously close to one another; as timelines collide, they themselves begin to waver. They fail because of the world, because of the past, and because of each other—yet in this failure, they keep each other alive.
