In March 2023, the Global Village in Berlin organised the international art competition "Decolonial Monument".
The
competition will be accompanied by a comprehensive supporting programme, that
addresses the effects and continuities of colonialism to this day. The patron
of the Decolonial Monument is Claudia Roth, the Minister of State for Culture
and the Media. The patron is Joe Chialo, Senator for Culture and Social
Cohesion in Berlin. 20 designs will be shown in the foyer of the
Kulturstall at Gutshof Britz. These were selected from over 300
submissions.
