Biesdorf Palace, a striking villa in late classicist style, was built in 1866 according to plans by the architect Heino Schmieden. After 1889, the royal horticultural director Albert Brodersen redesigned the park, which had been extended to almost 15 hectares.

Today, Biesdorf Palace is a municipal gallery that presents changing exhibitions and is the venue for events.

The current exhibition can be visited on Open Monument Day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
