Island festival May 30 to June 1, 2025
Museum Island Berlin is kicking off the 200th anniversary year of Museum Island with a kick-off weekend centred around UNESCO World Heritage Day. The island festival will take place from 30 May to 1 June 2025.
A varied programme awaits you with free guided tours, workshops and surprise offers in the museums on the history, architecture and collections of the Museum Island. There will be a colourful stage programme in the Kolonnadenhof on the three days of the island festival.
‘We have a lot planned for this day! I am particularly looking forward to our Berlin cultural partners, whom we have invited. The Deutsches Theater, the Volksbühne, the Berliner Ensemble, the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and the Komische Oper will be ‘serenading’ the Museum Island,’ says SPK President Hermann Parzinger.
Experience the world premiere with audience screenings of a new ZDF/arte documentary about the Museum Island.
The UNESCO World Heritage Day ceremony will take place on Sunday, 1 June 2025 at 11 am.
