Songs and stories about happiness - with Maria Thomaschke and Nikolai Orloff
We chase after it, compare, hope, despair – and often completely miss it in the process. Is it lying in the street? In love? On a lottery ticket?
Or is Brecht right: "Everyone runs after happiness, happiness runs after them…"?
Then perhaps it's time to stop and simply turn around, isn't it?
Maria Thomaschke and Nikolai Orloff, both lecturers at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts and stage partners for 20 years, take their audience on a multifaceted evening of chansons about what we're all searching for. With wit, melancholy, musical power, and tenderness, they tell of small triumphs, great longings, and the many facets of happiness.
Listen. Sit back. And who knows, perhaps happiness will come to you tonight…
With songs by Brel, Annett Louisan, Pigor, Brecht, Piazzolla, and many more.
