Jazz at Alter Schwede
In their compositions, they blend the B-sides of their youth with chamber-style free jazz. The result is pieces peppered with unpredictability and exuberance. But it is precisely this that creates the authenticity through which the music becomes an experience and takes on a quality all of its own.
The bassist and composer Maike Hilbig presents her trio’s brand-new programme. She moved to Berlin in 2005 and has made an ever-deeper mark on the German jazz scene. With Johannes Fink on the cello and Gerhard Gschlößl on the trombone, she carries the characteristic ‘Berlin sound’ of the early 90s into the present day.
