Duo Cello Capriccioso
‘Revealing a World’ is a tribute to the cello and its diverse expressive possibilities, and certainly offers an accessible introduction to the secrets of cello music.
‘Unveiling a World’ presents the listener with a collection of concert pieces originally composed for the cello with orchestral or piano accompaniment.
These works, which are unjustly rarely performed – and even more rarely heard together in a single evening in the concert hall – showcase the cello in a context other than the usual sonata and chamber music recitals.
The Cuban cellist Douglas Vistél and the Berlin-based pianist Almuth Kraußer-Vistél captivate audiences particularly through their high artistic calibre, their unpretentious virtuosity and their natural charisma.
The couple met whilst studying at the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in Moscow and celebrated their 30th anniversary on stage on 12 November 2022 with a spectacular concert at the Berlin Philharmonie.
In 2009, they founded VISTÉL’S CelloMusikSalon, where they introduce their audience to the breadth and diversity of cello music through extraordinary concert formats such as ‘Spontaneous Concert’, ‘Your Private Concert’ and ‘Cello Music à la carte’.
