String players, saxophonists, singers and a choral workshop bring the work to the Nikolaikirche with a fresh sound.
What does Bach’s Christmas Oratorio sound like with string instruments and saxophones?
Come and find out at St Nicholas’ Church! The Hanns Eisler Academy of Music Berlin, in collaboration with the Berlin Museum, invites you to a special concert experience.
Students from the university will perform selected pieces from the Christmas Oratorio. Choir conductors, singers and a ‘choir laboratory’ ensemble will bring the music to life on stage with fresh timbres.
Under the baton of Jonas Kraft, a vibrant interpretation emerges that offers a new way of hearing familiar works. The concert also marks the renewed collaboration between the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music Berlin and the Berlin Museum.
Three concerts for the price of two
With the ‘3 for 2’ offer, you can choose three concerts from the programme accompanying the Chorus exhibition and pay only for two tickets. The musical line-up ranges from rap to oratorio, from soundtracks to orchestral music, from experimental sounds to catchy tunes.
