Charlotte Melkonian is thirteen; she made her debut at Carnegie Hall in 2024 and was awarded the Usedom Music Prize in 2026; since 2026, she has been the youngest scholarship holder of the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation. Jascha Nemtsov has rediscovered much of this music himself: works by Weprik, Bloch, Ullmann and Weinberg – composers whom every generation must rediscover.
The performance at Nemtsov&Nemtsov – Raum für Kunst und Diskurs – will feature a cello by Stefano Scarampella dating from around 1900, which Charlotte won in the German Musical Instrument Fund competition. The pianist Jascha Nemtsov, holder of Europe’s first chair in Jewish music history, will accompany on the piano.
7.30 pm, Nemtsov&Nemtsov – Space for Art and Discourse, Berlin-Charlottenburg (Witzlebenstraße 38, 14057 Berlin)
