For 20 years, they have been an integral part of the capital’s cultural life and a hallmark of the DSO: the Casual Concerts featuring a lounge and live performances at the Philharmonie. They blend classical music with club sounds—the best of both worlds. In the first Casual Concert of the season—featuring the ethereal sounds of Stravinsky and Bernstein—Ingo Metzmacher, who launched this popular format 20 years ago, will serve as host and conductor.
The conductor will host the evening and explain the works in an engaging way before performing them in context.
In the second part of the evening, the Casual Concert Lounge invites guests to the Philharmonie foyer with live performances and a DJ.
The lounge opens up to the urban sounds of the metropolis.
