Beyond utopian glass house designs by the avant-garde architects, a technical everyday organism already provided the real basis for simplifying public life: the color system of subway line 8 integrates the latest understanding of information. Above ground, idiosyncratic buildings by a wide variety of architects of a generation such as Heinrich Tessenow, Clemens Holzmeister, Peter Behrens or Max Taut can be found along this line, connecting a new city axis similar to Wedding via Mitte with Kreuzberg. Her designs for pastoral care, hygiene, administration and representation defined a contemporary responsibility for growing spaces in the community. The basic motive of modern cities is mobility, which also characterized Berlin from 1920 onwards.
