The original version for adults

What happens when a world you took for granted disappears? “Feeling A: A Herstory of the Fall of the Berlin Wall” is a poetic performance piece about upheaval, coming of age and loss. At its heart is Anja, who, as a teenager in 1989, experiences the collapse of the world she knew so well. Things disappear, people leave, certainties dissolve – and a new era begins.

From a personal and queer perspective, the performance recounts the contradictory experiences of the German Reunification and the post-Reunification era:

of new beginnings and freedom, but also of farewells, uprooting and the loss of life plans. Documentary theatre, punk rock, live music and acrobatics on the Chinese pole combine to create a physical and musical journey through memory.

What remains of a bygone world – and what do we lose when history is rewritten?

Suitable for ages 15 and over.

Following the performance, there will be a moderated audience discussion with Dirk Kalinowski, the singer of the GDR punk band Zerfall, on youth culture and punk in the GDR, as well as the period of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the post-reunification era.
