Under the guise of charity and compassion, they lay bare the machinery of sympathy. The Thikwa performers are true experts in delivering inspiring and heart-wrenching performances. On stage, they overcome the greatest obstacles and bring out the saddest stories – not least to humorously subvert the dynamics of spectating and empathy.
