Klezmer and world music made in Berlin
The four musicians of the Berlin-based band BOHAI—Yorick Lohse (clarinet), Sönke Tippelmann (guitar), Alexander Patzelt (bass clarinet), and Johannes Schauer (double bass)—blend Yiddish folk and dance music with other musical styles such as tango and swing.
The result is a broad musical spectrum ranging from melancholic ballads to up-tempo dance numbers. Through the unique combination of their instruments, the musicians conjure up a sound all their own that invites the audience both to listen intently and to dance.
