Two works, two eras—linked by a sombre tension and great emotional power: Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 in the fateful key of C minor offers passionate outbursts as well as tender, intimate moments.

The work will be performed by Yefim Bronfman, who is renowned for this broad expressive range. Shostakovich’s Twelfth Symphony, “The Year 1917,” aims to create a musical monument to the Russian October Revolution: heroic gestures, dramatic force, and menacing timpani beats reminiscent of cannon fire lend the work gripping drama.
