BACH-COSMOS
The 3rd Berlin-Weißensee Piano Festival in 2025 is all about Johann Sebastian Bach. From 14 to 16 March, the festival will celebrate the composer's 340th birthday with a varied programme under the theme
BACH-KOSMOS.
The sheer immeasurable variety of Bach's piano works will be honoured as well as the music of his sources of inspiration and modern composers. The festival brings together outstanding artists who bring Bach's musical legacy to life in a fascinating way.
Artistic Director Eri Mantani will kick off the festival with a piano solo concert, welcoming the audience to the third generation of the Berlin-Weißensee Piano Festival.
At the family concert the next afternoon, she will also provide instrumental accompaniment to Angelika Laule-Dimmling's exciting and informative story. On Saturday evening, guests can look forward to an extraordinary line-up: Kirill Zvegintsov and Leonhard Dering will present a unique four-hand piano duo concert featuring demanding, grandiose works.
A unique insight into Bach's own music collections will be provided by the free but registration-only recital on Sunday morning with Jia Lim on the harpsichord.
Finally, early on Sunday evening, the special concert by the renowned pianist Konstantin Lifschitz, who is considered one of the most important Bach interpreters of our time, will be the crowning finale of the festival.
The 3rd Berlin-Weißensee Piano Festival promises an incomparable experience and invites everyone to let themselves be carried away by the fascination of Bach's musical universe.
