Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 ranks among the most stirring works in the orchestral repertoire. It unfolds with an energy characterized by pulsating rhythms and dance-like dynamics.
The second movement in particular—the famous Allegretto—moves the listener with its haunting, almost meditative atmosphere. The symphony thrives on the alternation between powerful ecstasy and lyrical depth and is, not without reason, considered the “apotheosis of dance.”
