Becktrio: Songs Without Words

Elements of classical, jazz, folklore, and drone music are building blocks in Gotthard Beck's compositions, which allow for improvisation and emotional expression. They are based on a music-psychological approach that assigns special significance to individual notes, keys, harmonies, and rhythms.

Brothers David and Samuel played together in the crossover band Luchten in the early 1990s, then pursued different musical paths and now meet again in this family project.

The Beck Trio's music is framed in a stylistic guise that incorporates the family members' diverse musical backgrounds, from Oriental, Indian, and North African to rock, pop, and jazz.

Fundamentally, it can be said that the world of chords and harmonies bears a close resemblance to the inner world of human beings.
