The Protestant Church District of South-East Berlin invites you to ‘Bach in Dialogue’ at the Erlöserkirche in Lichtenberg on Sunday, 15 November 2026, at 6 pm.

The guests will be presenter and radio journalist Harald Asel and director, author and actor Axel Ranisch. Their conversation will range from Bach’s music to issues of our time.
The focus of the evening will be Johann Sebastian Bach’s cantata ‘Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland’ (BWV 61). An introduction to the work, featuring audio samples from the orchestra, invites the audience to listen more closely and discover the music. The cantata will then be performed in its entirety. The conversation between Asel and Ranisch will complement the musical experience by offering a perspective on the present day.
With ‘Bach in Dialogue’, the church district is continuing its autumn cantata performances in a new format. Whilst these were previously part of an evening service, liturgical elements now take a back seat. Instead, more space is given to the music, its presentation and the discussion surrounding it.
