concert and dance

Dregs??? The word "dregs" in English means sediment: in coffee, in wine—or in society. The term is, of course, a fitting description for blues music and blues culture, whose roots certainly didn't lie in the educated middle class, and definitely not in high society.

In reality, the seven "dregs" are by no means any kind of "sediment," but rather all "high-flyers" on their respective instruments, most notably Annie Berka, a singer with a powerful voice and impressive range. And, for the first time in a long while, there's a three-piece (fortissimo) horn section: two saxophones and a trumpet. The band's favorite blues era is the years 1957 to 1963, i.e., early rhythm and blues, along with rock and roll and soul. The result: The urge to dance is guaranteed!
