In search of music that allows musicians and live audiences to dream together, the newly formed quintet of Berlin-based all-round musician, composer, and actor Christian Korthals is embarking on a fascinating journey of discovery.

With the Composers’ Orchestra Berlin, which has been a regular fixture in Berlin for over twelve years, he recorded his latest CD, "Exoplanet," in 2023. He then further developed it into a spaced-out music theater piece with a quintet at the Theater im Kino in Friedrichshain. This quintet, situated somewhere between post-jazz and neo-romantic chamber music with forays into science fiction film scores, is now being further developed in concert and takes us to the stars.

Compositions such as "Neutron Star," "Exoplanet," and "Wild and Wide" tell stories of cosmic harmony, scientific fascination, and perhaps even a touch of escapism. "Original pieces with hit appeal," judged JazzThing. jazz-fun.de speaks of "transitions" that are "so fluid that it's difficult to pinpoint specific moments of stylistic transformation."
