By Dietmar Jacobs

Just think of all the things that can happen during a crazy, sleepless night! Marie, the main character in Anna Schäfer’s brilliant new solo piece, knows the problem all too well.

Like so many people, she sleeps poorly because she can’t stop her thoughts.

That’s why, at night, all her strange and hilarious ideas regularly pop into her head – ideas she’s always wanted to share with her friends, her enemies and the whole world.

In a fast-paced, very funny, yet also touching and musical monologue, Anna Schäfer strikes right at the heart of our times.

She acts, sings and whirls her way through the major issues that affect her and us. She switches between roles and characters at breakneck speed, painting a portrait of this country and its inhabitants that is as topical as it is fantastical and satirical. Personal, political, incisive and performed with a wild zest for the stage.

A fast-paced journey through theatre, cabaret, comedy and storytelling.

An evening centred on stories. The stories that make up life.

Anna Schäfer is supported in this programme by playwright and Grimme Award winner Dietmar Jacobs (Stromberg, Mord mit Aussicht, Extra 3, Heute Show, Kom(m)ödchen Düsseldorf).

She is also supported by director Hans Holzbecher (award-winning satirical director, primarily with Kom(m)ödchen Düsseldorf since 2006, as well as productions for theatre and musicals such as *West Side Story*, *Jekyll & Hyde*, etc.).

And by composer Jochen Kilian (Music Director at numerous municipal and state theatres, including the Theater des Westens in Berlin; active as a composer and arranger for many German-speaking artists and stages, including the Friedrichstadtpalast in Berlin).

An evening that is sure to leave no one unmoved
