Performance by Ersan Mondtag and Nadim Samman as part of Berlin Art Week

Ersan Mondtag and Nadim Samman are staging a Berlin-based vanitas performance at the Gemäldegalerie, engaging in a dialogue with both living and deceased Old Masters.

Serving as a bridge between theater and museum, 25 performers from different generations create a tableau vivant—in scenes that explore transience and renewal, disappearance and endurance.

The cast includes renowned actors, singers, dancers, and figures from Berlin’s nightlife scene, among them Frank Büttner, Eva-Maria Keller, Sema Poyraz, WestBam, and Louis Hofmann.

Each 90-minute performance takes place in different rooms of the Gemäldegalerie. Visitors decide for themselves when and for how long they wish to watch the individual performances.

Unclothed performers will appear during the performance. Please take this into consideration when deciding whether to attend.
