About the special exhibition “2101 – Future Ceramics: Tableware of the Future” (through February 28, 2027)

A laid table is far more than just a place to eat – it is a stage for hospitality, an expression of culture and a reflection of social norms. This four-part series of talks invites you to rediscover the art of dining.

At the Museum of Decorative Arts, porcelain and tableware tell stories of design, representation and the rituals of shared dining. In the Picture Gallery, the table is explored as both a pictorial motif and a space for social interaction.

The exhibition ‘Future Ceramics’ broadens our perspective by exploring how dining and table culture might change in the future. This gives rise to a multifaceted dialogue between object and image, past and present, tradition and vision.
