Clärchens Ballhaus

Berlin institution with dance evenings and beer garden

The sparkling chandelier bathes the hall in warm light, the rhythm of a tango fills the room, and outside in the beer garden, the Berlin summer evening rustles quietly. Clärchens Ballhaus is no ordinary place – it is a piece of living contemporary history.

Clärchens Ballhaus is a real piece of Berlin history and to this day a place where tradition and joie de vivre meet. For over 100 years, the Ballhaus has been alively meeting place for music, dance and culture. The Ballhaus enchants with nostalgic charm, sparkling chandeliers and a greeting from a bygone era. If the walls of the dance hall could speak, they would tell of both world wars, political upheavals and the unshakeable Berlin attitude to life.

Different sounds can be heard almost every day and everything from salsa, Argentinian tango and swing to cha cha or waltz is danced. The variety of musical styles makes Clärchens Ballhaus a place where dance culture remains alive and offers something for everyone.

The unique architecture and the famous Hall of Mirrors create an inspiring and unmistakable location for events and functions.

The Ballhaus also has a lot to offer in terms of cuisine: The in-house restaurant Luna D'Oro combines traditional and modern German cuisine. Cool drinks, coffee, homemade cakes and snacks from the food truck are served in the lovingly planted beer garden. Perfect for a relaxing break in the heart of the city.

Clärchens Ballhaus is much more than just a dance club:
here, history, culture and enjoyment are combined to create a unique experience and visitors have been invited to linger, dance and dream for generations.
