The Game

Trickster-p, long-standing collaborators of Theater der Dinge, are back! Having already captivated Berlin audiences three years ago with a performative board game, they now invite us to explore a playful model of society with ‘The Game’. In doing so, they lay bare economic dynamics and organisational structures:

In small groups, participants build their own livestock farm on the game board. The cleverly designed rules lead directly into the mechanisms of modern economies and force players to choose between profit maximisation, ecological and ethical values.

‘The Game’ is a participatory performance:

The audience plays in several groups and carries out moves on a game board as defined by the rules. Conversations and discussions amongst the audience are an integral part of the performance. Attendance is not possible without participation, but it is the audience who decide the level of their involvement.
