Workshop for Families

The exhibition ‘On to New Works! Max Slevogt, Bruno Cassirer and Max Liebermann’ shows the diverse ways in which artists around 1900 experimented with drawing and printmaking for illustrated books. Together, we’ll discover how a single idea can give rise to an ever-changing array of images through various printing techniques.

In the family workshop, young and old alike can learn about ‘kitchen lithography’ – a playful variation on traditional lithography. Using simple materials such as aluminium foil, cola, drawing tools and printing ink, they can create their own print templates and discover how drawings are transformed, step by step, into graphic works.

  • Standard museum admission applies (free for children).
  • Participation in the workshop is included. Places are limited.
  • Book at: dornieden@liebermann-villa.de
  • Meeting point: In good weather: the garden (next to the terrace); in bad weather: the documentation room on the ground floor (next to the café)
