Berlin-Gatow Airfield

The Berlin-Gatow Airfield, built in 1934–35, was part of Berlin’s military infrastructure and, after 1945, also its civilian infrastructure. Today, the entire complex forms a unique historic site that has been used by the Museum of Military History since 1995.

The architecture of “Luftwaffenmoderne” and the expansive outdoor space form an impressive network spanning approximately 722,000 square meters. On the theme day, guided walks will take you through the former Gatow Airfield. Join us on one of the tours to learn about its history, development, and current use.

Exclusively on the theme day, you can take a look inside a special hangar. This hangar has never before been open to the public.

  • This event is part of the Berlin Industrial Heritage Festival.
