In a time marked by the resurgence of fascism and right-wing ideologies that weaponize public opinion through propaganda to stigmatize marginalized groups, feminist and queer movements stand at the forefront of resistance. They confront not only sexism and heteronormative gender stereotypes but also intersecting systems of oppression such as racism, ableism, ageism, and religious discrimination. Within these intersections, FLINTA communities (female, lesbian, intersex, non-binary, trans, and agender) play a crucial role in exposing how existing social, cultural, and institutional structures remain inaccessible and exclusionary.
Boss, Bitch, Baby is a group exhibition dedicated to exploring the breadth of FLINTA experiences within contemporary hegemonies. It highlights the creative and political tools used to express identity, cultivate solidarity, and resist everyday struggles. Through art, dialogue, and performative gestures, the exhibition emphasizes both vulnerability and resilience: our capacity to be strong, soft, angry, and playful all at once.
Central to this exhibition is the practice of care – an essential FLINTA principle that extends beyond personal relations into artistic, social, and political action. By foregrounding care as a radical method, Boss, Bitch, Baby challenges dominant narratives and reimagines collective ways of being, creating, and thriving together.
As one of the care methods of FLINTA communities, we used gossiping as an artistic-curatorial strategy to put this exhibition together.
