Bouldering is climbing without ropes up to a height from which you can still jump off. For safety, you land on thick mats. This isn’t only reassuring for the climbers, but also for mums and dads watching their clambering offspring.

There are now bouldering areas – both indoor and outdoor – in nearly every district of Berlin.
Berlin’s biggest bouldering gym is Berta Block in Prenzlauer Berg. The Ostbloc is in Lichtenberg at Rummelsburg harbour with a view of the Spree. With a glazed indoor area and a large outdoor space, bouldering at the Bright Site in Schöneberg is a very special experience. At the Bouldergarten in Neukölln you can have a sauna afterwards. Hidden in a backyard, the Boulderklub Kreuzberg has a 1300 square metre bouldering gym, as well as a bouldering adventure playground, the good ship Renate, for the youngsters.
These are just some of the exciting bouldering sites in Berlin for enthusiasts of all ages.
