Berliner KinderTheater
Where children's books come alive
Theatre fun for young and old alike: well-known children's stories from around the world get the humorous treatment at Berliner Kinder Theater.
The Berlin Children's Theatre offers plenty of entertainment for children aged 4 to 10, families and school classes all year round. The focus is on well-known children's book classics from world literature, which are often also known as film successes.
In recent years, humorous productions of titles such as Astrid Lindgren's Pippi Longstocking in Taka-Tuka-Land or Michel from Lönneberga, The Best of Pettersson and Findus, The Jungle Book or My Friend Wickie have been staged in front of packed audiences. Fun is always at the forefront, but at the same time the ensemble successfully conveys that life cannot be divided into simple good or evil.
Theatre fun in summer and winter
As a family theatre, the Berliner Kinder Theater is a true Berlin institution. For over 30 years, since November 1986 to be precise, the ensemble has been delighting audiences.
In the warmer months of the year, the Berliner Kinder Theater invites audiences to the summer family theatre series on the open-air stage at the Zitadelle Spandau. Up to 500 people can enjoy the performance under shady trees, with 200 seats under cover. In autumn, winter and spring, the ensemble moves its performances to the Fontane House in the Märkisches Viertel.
