Spreewaldtherme
Comforting atmosphere in cucumber barrels
Situated in the heart of the Spreewald, the Spreewald Therme in Burg combines thermal bathing, saunas and wellness with the region’s unique natural surroundings. At its heart lies the mineral-rich Spreewald thermal brine, which is extracted directly on site from a depth of 1,350 metres. This makes the spa an attractive destination for a wellness day trip from Berlin.
What to expect
In the SoleBad, you’ll find six indoor pools, a heated outdoor pool and two water-treading pools with temperatures ranging from 18 to 38 degrees Celsius. Particularly relaxing is the 36-degree intensive brine pool with an 8 per cent salt content, where you can let the water carry you along. Bubble loungers, a current channel, brine inhalation and free aqua aerobics round off the bathing facilities.
The Sauna Garden features six different saunas, including a Spreewald sauna, a fire sauna, a herbal sauna, a sanarium and an aromatic steam bath. There are also hourly infusions, cold-water pools and relaxation areas with a fireplace.
Why it’s worth a visit
The combination of wellness and regional identity is what makes the Spreewald Therme so special. Even details such as the herbal sauna in an old Spreewald house or the brine inhalation in a pickle barrel draw on typical elements of the region. This makes a visit to the spa the ideal way to combine a trip to the unique cultural landscape of the Spreewald. The perfect slow travel tip for your holiday in Berlin.
