Discover Berlin’s maritime side with Marina Lanke
From sailing courses for children aged eight and above to skipper training: right in the heart of Spandau, the long-established Marina Lanke sailing school promises water-based fun for the whole family.
The BerlinPay offer
During the BerlinPay campaign, you can take your first steps on a sailing boat at the sailing school and receive a picnic bag for travelling there by public transport or bicycle. During a sailing trip on the River Havel lasting around two hours, you’ll learn the basics from experienced sailors. Once you’ve finished, you can refuel with the treats from your picnic bag. The event takes place on 5 June from 5 pm. Please note: anyone aged 14 or over can take part; the participation fee is 25 euros. Click here to book in advance.
Have you been thinking about getting a boat licence for a while? Then make the most of the BerlinPay promotion running from 14 May to 14 June and sign up for a boat licence course. Anyone travelling to their pre-booked course by public transport or bike will receive a free soft drink. You can find an overview of the courses here.

The whole world of water sports and much more
The Marina Lanke sailing school is located in the largest marina in Berlin and Brandenburg. Over 15,000 water sports enthusiasts have already successfully passed their boat licence here. The sailing school itself has been in Spandau for 75 years. It offers a wide variety of options, ranging from taster sailing courses to recreational boating courses – both inland and at sea – right through to skipper training. The school also offers suitable sailing courses for children and young people aged between eight and 13 on specially equipped dinghies.
And because both swimming and sailing are known to work up an appetite, you can look forward to excellent food at the Italian restaurant Da Peppe or the Adda Café, right in the marina.
