With the exhibition’s co-curator, Florentine Nadolni

Discover the exhibition ‘Designing for Berlin: Design from the Berlin-Weißensee Academy of Art’ with curator Florentine Nadolni. During the guided tour, you will be introduced to the key exhibits and learn about their background and context.

The tour places a particular focus on works relating to architecture and urban space. Gertraude Pohl will be joining us as a guest speaker.

Gertraude Pohl studied textile design at the Berlin-Weißensee Academy of Fine and Applied Arts from 1959 to 1964; she taught there from 1978 to 1988. As a designer and visual artist, Gertraude Pohl was involved in numerous modernist buildings in Berlin, such as the high-rise hotel on Alexanderplatz, the Palace of the Republic and the new industrial complex for Sternradio in Berlin-Marzahn. Also in Marzahn, she designed a residential community centre featuring a fountain and specially developed clinker building elements.

  • The guided tour is free of charge. No booking is required.
