Clothing tells a story: it conveys power, courage, rank or personality. During the guided tour, we take a close look at the clothing in the Heroes’ Gallery. Around 1800, a heated public debate flared up over the question of what the subjects in the portraits were wearing.

How should a war hero from the glorious Frederickian era be depicted in a later era of military decline? And what do the garments tell us today?

Afterwards, you’ll get creative yourself:

Using figurines, you’ll design your own outfit for an official portrait – formal, imaginative or entirely personal.

The meeting point is the equestrian statue in the Great Dome.
