On 14 November 2026 at 6.00 pm, the 31st art auction organised by the Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia (EKBO) will take place at St Matthew’s Church in the Kulturforum Berlin.

Up for auction are 52 works of contemporary art, including pieces by Thomas Scheibitz, Karin Sander, Rimini Protokoll, Heinz Mack and A K Dolven, as well as five art events.

The proceeds will go towards projects supporting the church’s work with refugees. A jury previously selected the artworks, which will be on display at St Matthew’s Church from 6 to 14 November 2026.

The auction is held under the patronage of Bishop Dr Christian Stäblein, Bishop of the EKBO and Commissioner for Refugees and Migration of the Evangelical Church in Germany, and Diandra Donecker, Managing Director of the Grisebach auction house. Grisebach is a partner of the EKBOart art auction.

The works will be on display at St Matthew’s Church from Tuesday to Sunday, 11 am to 6 pm, in the run-up to the auction on 14 November 2026. A programme of accompanying events will take place during this period – including a sermon by former Minister of State for Culture Claudia Roth at the hORA service at St Matthäus Church on 8 November at 6 pm, as well as the artistic symposium ‘There is also a house in heaven’ on 12 November from 6 pm.
