Spooky fun for the whole family
Highlights include creative craft workshops, a spooky hair salon, live entertainment with Radio TEDDY, and a big Halloween parade through the neighbourhood on Saturday evening from 6.00 pm.
As the days grow shorter and October draws to a close, the spookiest time of the year is fast approaching. Glowing pumpkin faces adorn the windows, and little ghosts, witches and monsters roam the streets. Halloween holds a special fascination for children in particular – it’s a festival full of imagination and with just a touch of the creeps. The Schönhauser Allee Arcaden will be capturing this magic over two days, offering families a colourful, hands-on experience right in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg.
The spooky weekend, which is being actively supported by Radio TEDDY, begins on Friday 30 October at 12:00. On the ground floor, creative workshops invite children to get stuck in: they can carve pumpkins, design their own trick-or-treat bags, make lanterns or masks, and create spooky mummy and Halloween jars. Glitter tattoos are sure to make their eyes light up, whilst fantastic walking acts stroll through the centre.
On Saturday 31 October, the spooky fun continues. Alongside craft activities centred on pumpkins, bags and accessories, Radio TEDDY will be broadcasting live from the Arcaden on the day. Anyone still looking for the perfect look for the evening will be in good hands at the spooky face-painting station and in the specially set-up spooky hair studio. Halloween candyfloss provides sweet treats, whilst you can snap spooky souvenir photos in the photo booth. The grand finale will be the big Halloween parade at 6.00 pm: a fanfare band will bring the neighbourhood to life and accompany families along the route. Afterwards, the children’s music band ‘Frank and his Friends’ will entertain guests of all ages with a musical finale at the Schönhauser Allee Arcaden.
“We want to offer families in our neighbourhood an unforgettable Halloween experience,” says Jasmin Wagner, Marketing Manager at the Schönhauser Allee Arcaden. “With our varied programme, the many creative hands-on activities and the big lantern and fancy-dress parade, we’re creating a place where young and old alike can immerse themselves in the spooky season together – and it’s completely free of charge.”
